Welcome to Merck Fragments. I’m Gabe Koch, also known as DJ Merck, the founder and manager of both Merck and Narita Records. We’ve stopped releasing new music on Merck as of January 2007 and Narita as of September 2008. This is a weblog I set up to recommend music, links, and just rant. I will be dropping recommendations on music across a variety of genres, mixes from over the years, and other music related stuff. As well as some posts on culture and other interesting topics that may cross my path. And last but not least, and probably most important to you hardcore Merck fans out there, some background stories and exclusive mp3s to give you a bit of a treat and behind the scenes look at things with Merck and Narita.

There used to be a mix that i would stream quite a bit on the merck site. It was pretty mellow, and had a sample of Yoda towards the beggining. I believe it was by you !
Would be very very cool if you could share it again !??!! Maybe ??
Many thanks for everything.
Yeah, I know the one you’re talking about… I’ll try and get it onto the site once I’m done with this Ambient series. Wasn’t by me though, by one of our DJ’s, DJ Alex Sins.
Sorry if i put this in the wrong spot, feel free to delete it !
Amazing !!
That mix was so nice, that would be so cool.
I will keep an eye out for it.
Your first ambient mix is very good btw.
I miss Merck.. buying all the stuff I missed, at least everything I can, on Amazon.com via. download now. Too good. The more I hear the sadder I get about what happened! Anyway, thanks so very much- and for your continued contribution here.
Did you ever find that mix I was asking about ?
Thanks for all the mixes, the new one you just posted is solid.
Hey Casey,
Yeah, I did… its by DJ Alex S, was his Merck Mix for 2002…. it used to be streamable through his name on the artist page on the site (same for Dj Synertia as well). I didn’t end up posting it up because listening back on it now it sounds rather dated… but since alot of people listening now have probably never heard it, i’ll throw it in with the next few posts some along with some other Merck mixes.
happy to see you keeping at it gabe.
hi Gabe,
I re-found my love for ambient/IDM and M3rck has always a big part of this.
I made this ambient mix a couple of days ago, lots of memories an some of my favorite m3rck tracks/artists involved. Had no clue how to get in contact with you so I hope you dont mind that Im doing it like this. You can stream/download the mix here :

Merck was a great label. Sorry to see it go, but thanks for the site!
hey gabe, i’m a big fan of Merck.
i don’t know if you saw this job posting from Warp records. they are looking for a north american product sales manager. I think you would be the best person for the job.

More Merk, please. Thanks, Grant
more *Merck too…
It’s 2016 and in my eye, Merck Records is still my favorite record label. It was concentrated magic and is sorely missed. I collect what I can but I remember the days where I was spoiled by great releases left and right along with the bonus of going to shows due to being near Miami. Greatness never fades, Mer3k Forever.
